"My Buddy is so Muddy” tells the story of a young girl and her mischievous dog that goes beyond words.
In a few short pages, and with an uplifting, positive message, this cute tale explores themes shared between many pet owners and parents: Kindness, exploration, adventure, companionship and play.
This book is the debut children’s book for Damien St John, a British radio DJ and comedy writer, who wanted to make his daughter Ada’s first birthday extra special. He teamed up with a young illustrator from Ukraine who instantly captured the spirit of a young Ada, and her playful new rescue dog, just perfectly. Ada is full of adventure and mischief and loves dogs!
Supporting him along the way was Damien’s wife, Róisín Pope. Within a week of being published in the UK, My Buddy climbed into the top 30 on Amazon in the Children's Animal category. And when Róisín shared the book's success with The PEDIGREE Foundation via LinkedIn, we knew it could be an excellent fit for our loyal dog lovers."
Damien, Roisin and Ada live in Hampshire, England with their 2 rescue cats (Buster and Pedro). Roisin has a close link to Pedigree Foundation, having worked for Mars for the last 10 years. The family loved working on the book together and creating a special keepsake for Ada - the features Ada’s red shoes (her 1st pair of shoes) and her favorite yellow raincoat. On the final page, you may also spot Ada’s beloved favorite toy “Pengi”! With baby number 2 due in March 2021, Damien might have to get thinking about a 2nd book!!
